We took a long weekend in March and headed to Hong Kong. What an amazing city and the people were so helpful and nice! There are many wonderful things to see and do - and it's super easy to get around. We stayed in the Hong Kong side at the Ibis Hotel - centrally located. We visited the Big Buddha - and took the glass bottomed tram there - great pictures. Afterward there was a fun water fountain to play in. We also went to the History Museum - beautiful, informative, and great exhibits. Of course the shopping was great - we visited the jade market, the fish market, and the night market. We also walked on the overhead walkways - they were lined with folks enjoying their day off. I got to hook up with a friend from college - it had been many years since we'd seen each other, but we picked right back up. We met her at the peak - what a great view. I really loved the outdoor escalators - so efficient in getting folks up and down the big hills. We had great dim sum and even found some special tea.
